About
My name is Shea Lyons. I am a trained doula, certified lactation counselor, and past preschool teacher. Since I’ve worked with children and in the birth world I felt pretty confident entering parenthood. Well, I was wrong. Parenthood has been a very humbling experience filled with highs and lows.
I created this podcast because during my pregnancy and the first 6 months of parenting I searched for connection, for someone to tell me they’ve been there too. I wanted to not feel alone in what I was going through. The title for this podcast comes from the saying the days are long but the years are short. This podcast is something to help you get through those long days. The days where you haven’t slept, the laundry is pilled up and you are lucky if you had time to brush your teeth. I wanted to create a place that is nonjudgemental, supportive, open, honest, and safe. We will talk about all things parenthood, pregnancy, postpartum, birth, and life in general. I truly hope you enjoy it.
